Mak Ralston (the author) here! First off, love the podcast and the feedback on the story. You all did a good job balancing the pros and cons, and I agree with several of your suggestions. If you check out any of my other stories (which you’re welcome to), you’ll see I typically do dialogue-heavy stuff… so this more “purple” story was a change-up for me. You all correctly guessed that I had read Lovecraft’s “Colour Out Of Space” and wanted to make a “fall” version of my own. Happy Halloween!
